LIVE Recovery Radio Show Voices Warning For All
Afflicted with Trauma, Addictions
WHEN: Saturday, September 10, 2005, 6-8 p.m. PST
WHAT: The Recovery Radio Show is one of the fastest growing LIVE
call-in terrestrial radio programs in America, and one of few addressing
the disease of chemical and behavioral addictions. This Saturday night,
the program will warn listeners that traumatic stressful events as well as
post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can affect addicts who experience
the life-threatening, catastrophic event, such as Katrina. Because of the
Katrina devastation, displaced addicts are undergoing forced
detoxification because of the limited access to drugs and alcohol leading
to social chaos and crime.
Throughout the Katrina devastation, watch out for stress-related effects,
which can propel recovering addicts into relapse, as well as to awaken
latent addiction in those addicts who have not yet manifested their
disease.
