SISTAHS AGAINST DRUG AND ALCOHOL ABUSE- CELEBRATING RECOVERY THROUGH MUSIC AND SONG

The SISTAHS AGAINST DRUG AND ALCOHOL ABUSE (SADAA) are a Los Angeles-based vocal group comprised of three women, all in recovery from drug addiction, who write and compose most of their own material. Through their remarkable talents in music, they carry a beautiful testimony of how women addicts and alcoholics, facing the unique issues that women addicts face, can be delivered from drug and alcohol addiction, and can once again lead productive, satisfying, and meaningful lives.

This week we will be joined "live" in our studio by these three gifted women!! They are SADAA founder Gloria Johnson, "Merry" Terry Davis Nicholson, and Robin Abernathy. To date, their most rewarding achievements include winning first place in the group category of the 1998 McDonald Gospelfest competition; a singing part in the Christmas movie "How To Marry A Billionaire" which aired on December 20, 2000 (TV- Fox 11) and most of all staying Clean and Sober, one day at a time. And that's but a short list of their many appearances and many awards and recognitions. As they go on to proclaim in their informational materials, "We are on a spiritual journey, planting seeds of hope along the way that "women do recover"!!

Each SISTAH has a fascinating personal story, both in terms of their musical talents and accomplishments, but also in terms of their recoveries from drug and alcohol abuse. We will hear about each. Perhaps even more importantly than their their very notable accomplishments in music, they are stunning examples of how three women who had descended deeply into the hell of drug addiction, were able to find recovery and a precious second chance in life.

We will hear about how "the SISTAHS" came together, each after finding themselves entrenched in addiction but then finding the miracle of recovery. 4. WOMEN NEEDED TO SHARE THEIR STORY ON CABLE TV PROGRAM “SECRET LIVES OF WOMEN”
TV Show seeks “functioning” female addicts for on-air documentary series
(alcohol, meth, sex)

Women’s Entertainment Network (WE) is a cable television channel whose focus is on women: their lives, their interests, their jobs, their hobbies, their joys, their sorrows, their problems- EVERYTHING and anything that appeals to the female gender.

I recently received a phone call from one of the producers of the WE show “Secret Lives of Women”, which is in its second season and airs on Tuesday evenings at 10:30P in those cable system areas that carry WE. They are looking for 3 women who might be willing to be interviewed for an episode of this “real-life” documentary series (NOT “reality TV”!!). The show chronicles the actual lives of women in various situations and who are facing various significant or unusual challenges, “demons”, or other special issues of concern.

They would like to find three women who would be interested in sharing their lives as being:

• a "functional female alcoholic"

• a female methamphetamine addict

• a female sex addict.

5.  MARKETING OPPORTUNITIES WITH RECOVERY RADIO
Recovery Radio Seeks Show Sponsors

The Recovery Radio Show is more that just a radio show. We are a comprehensive set of resources for addicts and their families.
